Obby...... A Bio



Obby Steen......do not be deceived by the sweet little smile, this kid will eat you under the table with spicy food of any variety you want to challenge him with. Obby first started his spicy club for the neighborhood kids and hosted several spice challenges with adults and children who shared his passion for spicy food.
     It seems natural that Obby was attracted to spicy, hot foods....born in Bolivia, South America, Obby's first foods were preferred with dollops of Bolivian hot sauces which were small, deadly-hot little peppers of a native variety crushed with a large rock with garlic and salt....nothing else.  Obby was clearly shaping up to be one of the most tough, most adventurous kids ever. Obby was born in a small town in Bolivia sitting at the base of the Andes Mountains, the morning of his birth a double rainbow stretched across the Andes with the strangest hue of yellow filling the sky. At six months old he nearly died from a serious case of dysentery where for several days he would neither he would eat or drink and was wracked with vomiting and diarrhea until his skin dangled from his bones like wet clothes...when he pulled out of that, he learned to crawl on the scorching red dust and spent his days eating spicy hot foods and taking freezing cold baths in the river without flinching   Our family had a pet monkey named Vago who intimidated the older Steen kids by baring his teeth and lunging at them when they came near but Obby showed no fear of him and soon positioned himself at the top of the monkey's pecking order.  Obby has continued to grow up loving dare-devil stunts, hot food, cold water and climbing the highest trees you could find.....I guess you could safely say he loves life on the edge and wakes up with a smile everyday from ear to ear.
